I use a similar process:
There is not a large volume of fluid so I take the bleed nipple out and pump plenty of fluid through before putting the nipple back and bleeding using a tube and container with the surplus fluid in. It's a bit more wasteful but gets the air out.

Just keep an eye on the resevoir, if it runs out then you pump air back in :(

Thanks for the replys, I have put ptfe on the threads, tried new normal bleed nipple and a ball bearing type of nipple, I shall just have to keep trying till it works.
I think the centre stand may have been shortened, it's Really easy to get it on the stand.

Well, i found out the rear caliper was seized, put in new seals and pots, new resevoir too, still an absolute pig to bleed, also new master cylinder up front, also a pig to bleed. So now the front brake is ok, but the rear still doesn't seem briliant, maybe the new pads need a bit of bedding in !

Clutch may well play up if it hasn't run for a while. I wouldn't take it apart until you've given it a good run or two. The tutorials will guide you through if you have to do it, but don't make work for yourself ,, Eric

If you havent already changed the oil fresh oil helps the clutch as does adjusting the clutch correctly. If the bike has stood for some time the plates may need cleaning in solvent or replacing and the clutch basket tangs may be notched leading to difficulty in selecting neutral. It wont affect the MOT as they only run the engine to test all the lights ,horn ect. The brake test is not done with the engine running.

Had to replace the sprag, the spring had snapped, got new clutch plates whilst I was in there, had to file the basket flat as there was bad ridging on it. Did all the seals too. Need to get fuel in it and hopefully I can take it for a spin.
