Those shocks are probably softer than the originals.

Landmarc, you could make some too, spruce up your bike and form a splinter groupšŸ˜Š Or would that go against the grain ? I hear you like things plane and simple A knotty problem.......

i was going to build a rigid more comfy than the stock shocks!

hello just a quick update on my mt500 rebuild it passed mot on tuesday but i still have some work to do ,the clutch is dragging until hot when the motor was apart i filled very fine ridges of the clutch basket and when put back together worked fine dry seems ok when hot,the front brake is not great the shoes are like new with no wear,if i get these fixed i am going to repaint tank and side panels not happy with the finish, and replace the seat cover all the best jim

Slight clutch drag when the engine is cold is a 'feature' Before now I've filed ridges down, checked that the basket is still in tolerance, fitted new springs as the old ones were just out of spec, put fresh oil and it's been smooth as silk Within a short time the notchy feeling returned when cold, disappearing after a few miles

thanks for the reply i will probably run it for a while and see how things go it has put my mind at rest about the clutch, if it is a common thing i was wondering if i had done something silly i do not fancy stripping it down again just yet anyway all the best, jim

hello just thought i would tell you how my mt500 project was going i had some trouble with the clutch and decided to take a look and on undoing the rocker shaft pulley securing bolt the head sheared off managed to drill it out heart in mouth will doing this. but all now good checked the springs clutch basket etc cleaned and put back all n spec still drags until warm but is ok, have taken the mt to my triumph club meeting caused a lot of interest most had never seen one before they all have other makes as well as a triumph and and like all bikes , they all came out to see me start it and luckily started after a couple of kicks :o have had a ride out and taken a picture by this aptly named road all the best jim
