had to buy some journals this year myself....not cheap. when you fit them keep them well greased.

actually, i was thinking of reusing my journals and just changing the bearings, do you think thats ok ?
to be fair the markings are not bad at all and i can't feel any play in them

I havn't been able to progress very far this last few weeks on engaging engine into the frame, coz i need new swinging arm bearings, and i didn't want to put the engine in without that being ready,
so iv'e been quietly collecting parts that i need, and still working on my fuel tank,
i still havn't sourced a suitable pipe for the sight tube yet, but i have completed the paint job
painted by hand , believe it or not, about 6/7 coats, nice build up, then flatted down with wet and dry to get smooth as silk, then sprayed with fuel resistant lacquer ,





i think the flash off the camera, hasn't done the colour that much justice,
so sw/arm bearings on order , hopefully next stage coming soon

an idea for your level pipe.
i have noticed that my breather pipe on my big tank would do the job. it has been 2yrs now and it is still soft,pliable and hasnt discoloured. it is clear with a purple hue....nice !
not sure if it is an acerbis part. came with an apophis big tank.am thinking of trying to source some for fuel pipe. maybe see if minter knows.

Finally got back to work on my bike,
got the engine in, all the oil hoses connected, no carb yet, gona wait till i sort the front forks out, i'll probably find it easier to connect the cables before i put it in ? been restoring a rear light unit, all the silvering had come off, so thats on next along with the new wiring loom,






still struggling to locate front and middle pipes though, i don't want stainless, coz i intend to paint them black like the end can

many thanks on your exhaust mick, can't wait for that to arrive.
but while i'm waiting iv'e progressed a bit more, rear shocks on, hope there not to stiff for my skinny ass
started to put the new loom on, as i said earlier i haven't got the metal retaining clips but i got these groovy self adhesive clips which seem to do the job extremely well,
and she's sitting on the center stand now too, well with a little support from above






so next mission is sort out the exhaust and rack situation,

Nice one Mick! Looking good! The bolt foe the rear brake adjuster should be the other way around and also be a hex head with the lock nut the same side. make sure you tighten them up as if not they wind the brake on making you think your motor has seized! Good way of bedding in new rear shoes tho! I found out at Farleigh castle last year! Smoke pouring out of the rear drum!
