MT350 Finished...........ish
Re: MT350 Finished...........ish
I've just been looking into this and realised that for years i've been avoiding copperslip (actually spelt copaslip) on stainless, for no reason at all.I've used ally or graphite based pastes instead, thinking that the copper paste itself will react with the stainless. It was my college lecturer many yrs ago that told us this, during a lesson on Electrolysis (nicely explained by Pete).......Maybe it was an afternoon lesson after a few pintsPete Low wrote:For those who don't know, stainless and ally cause an electrolitic corrosion when in contact, as in a stainless screw into an ally casing or casting. Copperslip guards against such corrosion and prevents damage caused by attempting to remove siezed fasteners.
