I did the hawes road last year, with waterfalls frozen solid at the side of the road!

me and the wife did whernside on new years day last year....very cold and frosty and yes the waterfalls were frozen solid.

i find the better road is from marton(check out the second pic) to dent.you can then start and finish at the marton arms (a great pub,has at least a dozen ales and a zillion malts and has accomodation for those unfortunate moments).
