hi all,
has anyone taken their mt over salter fell (wray to slaidburn)at this time of year? i rode it about 30 yrs ago and was a good ride.i believe its been gravelled now.

There are photos on here of Ian (Caverian) from fleetwood out on his 500, I think it was somewhere near there. I'll try and dig out a link.

It has been at least 15yrs since I was that way. It was a training weekend when I was in Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.. Really crap weather and from what I remember the road was in a really really bad state, looked like IDEs had been set by walkers to trap off roaders, I think grid SD664 557 was as far aw we got in the Landys then had to go forth on foot.

If the pics in that link are current they have done a great job of rebuilding it.
