Remember the paratroop drop at Normandy last June?

A little air museum in upstate New York. We were talking to one of the guys at the museum who flew her over the Atlantic for the celebrations. He very kindly showed us round the inside of the plane. Small world!

Interesting. Surprised it had the range to do the Atlantic. Must have carried a lot of extra fuel. Brave pilot though...

You should see what I have flown the Atlantic in when I was a ferry pilot..... :lol:

The Dak is the aircraft I most want to fly.

They stopped in Nova Scotia, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland then France!
The guy we were speaking to was the maintenance director of the museum and also flew a number of the legs to and from Europe. He said that other than basic maintenance which they had provision for, the old bird behaved faultlessly.
