Riding back from Somerset via Old Shaftesbury Drove

Photos taken today somewhere between Shaftesbury and Salisbury. Old Shaftesbury Drove is a cracking by-way, it isn't too technical, so no worries about doing it alone, yet demanding enough to be satisfying. It took me about an hour to ride and didn't see a single person or vehicle anywhere. Farmers' fields were all open, and although I didn't, I could have had a cheeky ride around any of the stubble fields without worrying about being caught.

Absolutely stunning, congratulations and thank you.

Excellent!
This used to be one of my regular rides - ox drove Salisbury to Shaftesbury and Compton drove (this one) back again. The Ox Drove gets really badly cut up and rutted though and has some monster mud holes so not one to do on your own really. Compton Drove is a very pleasant bimble.

I may do it again sometime soon I think - thanks for putting that thought in my head. :)
