Thanks to Mme Jackymoto for this atmospheric view of Jacqui riding his K75 over the bridge across the Gardon at Corbes (pop 1793 ā€“ 138, pop 2008 ā€“ 152) in Gard.

Seasons Greetings

Post by NVNL » Fri Dec 21, 2018 1:56 pm

Seasons Greetings

What with one thing and another I didnā€™t get around to arranging a 216 Longest Day Rideabout this year, apols, so I positively slouched at the chance to join the RealClassic 2112 Shortest Day Snap ā€˜nā€™ Ride event today.

Some smudges of Looe Bridge, also Terras Pill ā€¦

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to One And All

Hoping to see some of you on 21st June 2019

Motostice

Post by NVNL » Mon Dec 23, 2019 5:27 pm

In a recent edition of the worldā€™s best bike mag, Real Classic, we were encouraged to send In shortest day snaps of our old nails with standing stones.
Now, the shortest day in Cornwall 2019 is 22nd December and the photos were taken 21st December 2019, but frankly I couldnā€™t give a flying hatband.

The origin of the word ā€œsolsticeā€ is derived from the Latin word sōlstitium. It literally translates to ā€œthe (apparent) standing still of the sun.ā€ That's because sōl means sun and sister means to stand still or ā€œto come to a stop.ā€

As you can see the Hardly-Ableson MT350 got stuck in the mud on the return journey from the longstone so we had motostice on the solstice.

Thereā€™s value for money.

Merry Festive to One and All.

Proper Preparation

Post by NVNL » Wed Apr 15, 2020 2:21 pm

This morning I took the Hardly Ableson to the local Morrisons for a little light food shopping.

Or tried to ... the cambelt snapped halfway there, the AA had a recovery vehicle to me within the hour and by lunchtime the bike was back in the Eclectic Shed with a new cambelt.

If only I'd fitted it before I set off.

Well done AA.

Tee shirts 17 and 29 šŸ˜®.
I've only been with one MT rider when his belt failed, the cause was an oil leak which led to a partial engine seizure
