Cylinder Rebore (all motorbikes) Contact - Suggestions

Post by woodruff » Sat Nov 30, 2013 8:22 pm

Does anyone have a recommended Machine shop / outfit to rebore cylinders for oversize Pistons, idealy in the south or by post.

The outfit I have been using is no more alas....

Any suggestions appreciated.

*I know some car engine specialists can do it but this is only on larger singles where the bore is similar to 350cc or more - Their tooling cant do small barrels!

Just stumbled across here in Henfield...

Perhaps slightly pricey if you want pairs done...

Its not specificaly for a Rotax engine, In fact I need a few small 98cc - 200cc barrels done.

Interested as to if Gary has a good machine shop contact though.

There's a place I use in North London that claim to be able to do this. I'll pop in next week and see what they really can do

Hi all,

Yes i use a machine shop for pressing in and out liners, rebores, little end bushes, stud removal etc etc..

They are very capable and professional..

Regarding Rotax 500 oversize pistons, Omega are manufacturing some for me at First over size and also having cylinder liners made too...

I use Sprint motorcycles in Wakefield can do bores under 80mm. For anything bigger I use Lockside engineering in Castleford. Hope this helps
