MT350 speedometer drive

Post by jungleMTbiker » Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:29 pm

Anybody got a spare one? Alternatively, has anybody got a recommendation for one off of another bike that will work?

I still haven’t looked any further into this… but it was looking hopeful.

As I am using a Aprilia wheel, I think I've decided to use a Aprilia CEV speedo drive. I've also located a CEV drive that supposedly has the same gearing as the MT, but is in a cracked housing. If I get desperate I might pay the exorbitant price the seller wants for it just to steal the gears out of it for a different housing!

For me the question may end up shifting away from "what drive will I use?" to "What speedo will work properly with the drive I have?" If you are using a 21" wheel and a drive from a 21" wheel, then the speedometer that went with that drive will work. I'll try the original 500 speedo first.

Hi. I’ve had a few APRILIA Rotax type speedo drives with cracked housings, if not too bad you can strip, build up the crack with epoxy putty or similar then grease and rebuild. It’s always been a viable working repair. Nige.
