Just found this, it's similar to what I am hoping to achieve with my MT500:

Actually, that could be a USMT500 - note the oil pipes, and it has a decompressor.

Nope, they add to the excitement. I rode one many years as my main mode of transport and the stories are still going around of my exploits.

Yes that is a USMT500. Good Find.
Look at the USMT500 Headlight.
I have heard of this Hack setup, but never have seen it anywhere.
Maybe this is the one that started the rumor that HD was going to remake the MT500 with a sidecar?
No kicker needed, it's got the magic button.
The bike looks to be on the grounds of the New HD Museum.
And the pic name says 105th.

Trouble is, my 500 chair project DOESN'T have a magic button!

One way around the kickstart prob would be a R/H mounted sidecar.
IIRC ....some of the MZ's,CZ's & Cossack Ural machines of the 1970's/1980's had LHD
[right hand mounted] sidecars on them ...the name "Superlastic" seems to ring a bell ....although a quick search on Google has'nt come up with anything.
I dunno if they ["the "Gubbernment"] made them illegal or something
.
edit .....a bit of info here
http://www.mzridersclub.co.uk/frames.html
the red one in the 2nd pic is a "Superlastic"
ride safe
