Hi Joth, you being a Nottingham lad aren't too far away. It's at East Midlands Aeropark where I spend most Sundays messing with big airfix kits ( well 'er indoors' claims that is what they are!)

Nice pictures. Vulcan and Buccaneer, two of my old favourites! I ended up on Tornado,s as the Vulcan had gone out of service.I had the pleasure of seeing the bucc,s fly at Honington from the 237 OCU.

I had a Buccaneer buzz me, we were on a training area so he could go as low and as fast as he wanted. Overflying at something less than 200ft, we could feel the jetwash and were covered with burnt kerosene fumes. Despite moving my vehicle as far as I could he swept around in a large circle to buzz me directly overhead a second time just to emphasise the kill.
Happy days.

I was in when that that happened....whats the difference between port stanley airfield and Mrs Spock? None, they both got F##ked by a vulcan! The tornados couldn,t go.Although we had the long range tanks and refuelling probes fitted and we had functioning guns and radar instead of lumps of concrete ballast ,the air force had cocked up on the missile carriers! So i spent many a long night helping get all the surplus small arms ready to send down south.

Remember seeing and hearing (
) a Vulcan at Barton Airshow in the eighties as a kid - couldn't believe the noise and since then always been a favourite.
