Ha! that brings back memories of sweating in the desert. Mind you I was more worried about the Americans shooting us by accident than Saddams lot!!!

I thought you were RAF? I thought all the airfields had air-con in their messes or, sorry were you Regiment and getting hot by the gates?

Of course I was RAF, of the blue type naturally.

I did have to go outside occasionally to keep the tan topped up.

The RAF are not daft ...we send our officers to war! The RAF regiment patrol bases so the ground crew like me couldn,t get hurt and got a decent nights sleep
