Withams June tender

I went to Withams last week for the tender. On tuesday I got the phone call to say I had won lots 3 and 4.

Lot 4 is the one without a headlight. Its got a new front wheel and tyre, new calipers, recent carb, new chain and sprockets and the engine was recoditioned in 2003. After setting the timming properly she started first touch of the button and start easily on the kick start. Just a shame there was no seat with her, probably asking to much for what she cost. The gamble paid off. (luckily)

Lot 3 is a bit worse for ware with a few more parts missing. After removing the birds nest of a shredded cambelt and fitting a new belt along with tightening the top pulley she started as well. All in all not bad.

The only bad part is I have decided to keep Lot 3 and sell my MT500 to cover some of my cost. Bit of a shame as the 500 is a good one and goes and starts very well.

We won the 3 other bikes varying between 550 and 800. All runners, mine is now mot'd and painted, the other 2 will be mot'd this week. In the tender lot number 584 was the seat of your bike!! Not sure how it ended up there.

I am just in corby and there are 4 of us with mt350 and probably a 5th in the next week. Drop me a line steve@nobubbles dot com. If you want to share any ideas.

Thanks Simon. I didn't do the post to show of. I did it to show that some times a little gamble at withams pays off.

Did you win the one with the 500 kick start on it? Did you win lot 584?

Well done, is this the start of a vehicle restoration business? Looks to be demand for on-the-road MTs.

No we were outbid on lot 584, it went for over five hundred quid in the end. Lots of goodies in it but not sure if they were worth that much! I have no idea what a 500 kick start looks like!!

I wanted the tyres but went for enduros in the End 80/20 off roaders.

Here she is on her first ride out. All is pretty good. I'm going to swap the bars for some renthal ones to see if that improves the ride. Also the clutch is dragging a bit, not to worried as yet I'll run her for a bit and see what happens.
