Unless you know the timing marks are in the correct place(pulleys fitted in the correct orientation), they you can just go by these. ;)

I guess I better change that belt just to be safe. I haven't touched it. Do you have a part number for the belt? Is it a standard belt I can pick up in the US or is it specific to the MT? Thanks

Hi clc,
the Nato number is 3030994641671, the Rotax number is 280 015, Dayco Cam Belt 86 R 190 94544
It is has 86 teeth x 19mm wide. This belt is common to many Rotax engines, so if you have an ATK dealer, nearby they would have one. I don't know whether you get CCMs in the States, probably not, but they use them, as did early Aprillia Pegaso's. The usual UK suppliers stock them, LMS, KL, Force, Peter Knight at http://www.rotax.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and http://www.apophisparts.co.uk/index.php?p=3_3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope this helps, Eric

Very interesting Can, i wonder if it is a form of super trap inside the original outer casing. I know the MT500e all have those fitted.
