Serviced mine today and put my road wheels on. Pumped grease into the swing arm and discovered the thrust washer has broken. Need to order one and strip the swing arm out.

Best fiver I've ever spent, on 42 slow jet for the 500 ( HD carb), what a difference starts easy cold or hot and warms up in no time well worth it.

Rewired it, sorted out the CB radio (upgraded from an 80's "Harvard good buddy" to a new Midland) Rewired it some more, sorted the valve clearances (well, taken down from 7mm to whatever the thickness of fag packet cardboard is), taken it for a test ride and almost crashed the damn thing

Re: What have you done to your bike today?
Started to put the bicycle speedo on the MT...
All nicely put on then found out the magnetic spoke thingy is too small for the spoke,
too wide so unable to thread together the knurled attatchment...bugger.
So I has to take it back and see if I can swap it or get my monies back.
WHAT DID YOU USE?

Does the magnet slide over the spoke and then a screw to tighten it up? can you not open the slot up with a hack saw, file or open it up with a thin angle grinder blade?Aleman wrote:Started to put the bicycle speedo on the MT...
