Standard MT toolkit and a cam belt. Was good enough for the mob and its good enough for me.
But then I tend to maintain mine to shiney standards rather than hanging on the edge by a bit of gaffer tape and a prayer.......

Re: what spares and tools do you carry
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned a bent paper clip- that all important tool needed to fit a clutch cable. (assuming that you have a spare already plumbed in of course). There is the alternative of something to screw onto the end of the cable to locate it in the clutch lever.
Neither the paperclip nor a terminal take up any space but can get you out of a tricky spot.(Yes I know that with a new cable well greased at the lever end complete with clutch lever boot, a mod by the military- not on the original fit, cables shouldn't break but..)

On the same theme....
I've never been able to fit a new clutch cable without using a small torch, so that should be on the list as well

Wire - no traveller should be without wire.
I dont understand why people dont carry wire nowadays, I think Gaffa tape killed it.
You can fix a host of things with a bit of wire.
Oh and string, whatever happened to string?
Try asking someone for a piece of string these days, 'oh eh yes might have some somewhere not sure though.....'
Why dont people value string anymore?, yes and Pegs! tumbledriers killed pegs I am sure of it, just think about all the jobs a Peg can do.
Wire, String and Pegs - takes you back eh!

Wire (for, amongst other things, fishing the new cluch cable into place)
Clutch cable
Cam belt
Headlight bulb
LED bike light
Set of spanners (two of each common size for frame bolts)
Set of stubby screwdrivers
1 long phillips, 1 long flathead screwdriver (for hose clips)
Iron Bill (always need this, if you were stranded you could kill a deer with it or something)
Clutch adjusting tool
Wooden dowel (plugging long fuel hose when I remove tank)
Set of ball end allen keys
String
Heat shrink tubing
Lighter
Assorted oily and clean rags
Bandages, wadding and medical tape (who knows!)
Phone
Yes, it's rather paranoid and bulky, but I did manage to get up and running when my front sprocket fell off on the way to work, and I feel safer this way

Off topic from the original thread but what about recycling? I remember the day that you kept every shred if silver paper out of cigarette packets, milk bottle tops, sweet wrappers etc. It was collected for the Blind to melt down and sell. No-one collects silver paper these days.Wire, String and Pegs - takes you back eh!
And pop bottles that you collected to take back to the shop, what happened to them. Crisp packets containing salt wrapped in blue paper, they only have those for novelty value these days.
And what about public phone boxes, it's all tweet and twitter these days, oh yes and Apps. What is the world coming to. That said I don't miss the ashtrays on busses and trains and those striker plates for matches.
