Carburetor replacement

Post by SLYs6x » Thu Nov 19, 2020 3:13 pm

Hi my name is Sly

I am new to this site and very happy to be part of this group. I am a proud owner of an 1986 MT500 with electric start and seems to have an issue with the original carburetor, looking for an upgrade and seeks expert advice from you guys . Could someone refer my a carburetor # number and model that would be a perfect match for my MT ?

Thanks in advance

Welcome together forum , an MT500EC quite a rare bike with only about 76 built . Presumably you have an Amal carb fitted ? If you have a look around the forum, you will find different carbs have been fitted, some more suitable than others.

Hi Sly,

Welcome to the forum, we have the perfect carb kit for your engine. We spent time on a dyno getting everything just right for the Rotax. We have sold over 50 of these kits with great feedback from every single customer.

Click the link below for more info. As you're in Canada you won't have to pay the UK sales tax but shipping will be extra.

Hope that helps..

Out of interest, what is actually wrong with your current carb? The Mk II Concentric doesn't give the best performance but it is fairly easy to overhaul.
