Welcome to the forum

To distinguish from the Armstrong MT500 ( 1980s , kick start only) we usually refer to your bike as an HDMT500. Some Armstrongs have had frames modified to accept a starter motor also , just to add to the confusion

As for upgrades, many fit satnav these days. For more power some fit 604 engines but they are getting hard to find. Sportax Racing have developed engine upgrades. An easy upgrade is to change your carburettor

As for insights, you will find that the forum is structured to make things easier to find, also there is a good Search facility, see top right
