Powys Weekend

A few of the lads that went to the Pyrenees didn't actually make it to North Wales for various reasons (Birthdays, holidays, shingles, fear of rain, you know the sort of thing) so Dave (Bugsy955) decided to invite us to his house to have another go.
Well, what a weekend. We followed the well proven MT plan: shiney motorhomes in his back yard, then rode out on Saturday. First of all we went playing over a big grassy hill which was a free-for-all playground, even if parts of it were very muddy. Minter being a hero broke his brake lever but Dave saved the day by swapping it from one of his other bikes. We then did a length of the Wayfarer IN THE SNOW. The roads over the mountains were SHEET ICE so we had a 'memorable' weekend.
After the success of this weekend, Dave is now considering organising an event for all of us - in better weather.
If it works out, there is a community centre type of hall/bunkhouse/bar on the outskirts of town which could be available.
Let us know if you are interested and let's see what happens.
Hopefully some of the lads will post some photos to show you what to expect.

Lets just name and shame here Kev. There was only one MT... someone has to be loyal.
Bugsy955 - Beta Alp.
Mr Shiney - Honda XR400.
Minter - KTM 250
OneWayOnly - Yamaha TTR 250
Toby - Suzuki DRZ400
and me with a proper bike.

Got to say it was fantastic to have a great weekend with some true friends. Weather despite being really cold and some treacherous road segments was actually really kind to us.

Some really interesting lanes. An opportunity to mock minter for his tart like colour coordination which even included a pan orange chain but even better him rising to a schoolboy egged on challenge to climb an impossible track resulting in a broken bike and a return to base for emergency repairs!!

Thanks to Dave for allowing us to turn his garden into sangette. I used a lot of LPG keeping the wide and dog warm while we went out and played!!

I will post a few pics shortly.

Wide??? She won't thank you for that when she's stalking you!
Steve can you post the pictures to prove to the masses that some of us don't hibernate in winter?

Thanks Steve, shame we didn't get any pictures of those ice covered roads... then again, we were a bit busy trying to stay upright!

Yep a great weekend! I've got some icy pics of roads but can't fathom how to attach with this fancy new phone! The grassy snow covered verges were much more fun to ride on!
