Joined this great club this year. Run mainly by RAF guys.
Done 2 Airfield Riding Days on the Triumph which is very well organised.
Today I joined them on an Off Road day at Slab Common, Bordon.
Apart from the heavy rain it was a good day riding several marked out courses.
After the initial tittering when I turned up on the MT I think they were surprised how well it performed.
First time I have ever ridden in sand though.
Had a chat with Paul Jay who is a Dakar competitor and was testing parts for this years rally.

Spot the odd one out... :D

Maybe they weren't tittering about the bike. :D

But if they were, who did you have riding it?

Maybe you knew my stepdad Tony Maton.
He worked there on the fire crew and general maintenance. Used to ride an AJS.

The Odiham club have lots more events planned for this year if anyone is interested. Including monthly off road days. :D

Sorry Phill

I do not recall the name, and did not see any AJS's on the road at that time, I used to work for Dan Air at the time (in the late 70's) and do not know any of the Fire Crew, maybe he used to frequent the pub at the end of the airfield the Royal Oak, or one of the many pubs in Alton.
