You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Pleased to have you on board, looks like we will have a terrific line up, did I mention the fire pit, big enough for a good bonfire????
With this in mind should we try for a DIY BBQ, and some marshmallows?

It just gets bigger and better. 8-)
Having gone out investigating some more route today, and getting stuck, hurt, and generally out of shape, it has occurred that we will probably have to have different groups according to ability:-
1) Pussyfoot,-road bias group that likes to keep their bike clean and shiney.
2) Average Joe,- bit of everything, with bailout routes for those that are unsure. ;)
3) Macho man, balls out, hurt me plenty.

From the route we have already looked at, there are only a few tricky places, and the difference between groups 2, and 3, could be just the direction of travel up, or down a track.......Devils staircase being a prime example.

We could all stick together and just point the macho group in the right direction, let them take on the scary stuff, while the rest of us point and laugh.

I shall be approaching the pub about catering (menu and cost to follow), this may not suit everyone, and folk are welcome to sit by the bonfire cooking whatever they wish to bring with them. If we have a BBQ, we will have to ask for donation towards the food, and drink, weather it be financial, or supplies, this also will have to be optional as some may not wish to trust our cooking.
Alcohol is a bring a bottle/keg/crate of whatever you want to drink, or just get blotto in the pub.
WAGs are welcome, just let them know that there aren't many shops in the area, that goes double for shoe shops, and jewelry stores. :P

Hi Franc, Sounds brilliant!

The ride round together plan sounds good with opt out routes and RV points to all meet back up again. The point and laugh thing is always good for moral and best shared but with no pressure placed on anyone! Looking forward to the devils staircase tho! :)
