Thanks Phil. I think we all did well. I was going OK until I tried to ride as fast as Gary (Minter), I then clattered to the ground with an almighty crash and now have a swollen right foot from when the bike landed on it and a big black bruise on the inside of my left thigh where it hit the tank as I was being thrown off! After that I went back to my Steady Eddy mode.

If you look at the link in Bunker's thread and keep scrolling down you will find some amazing shots of this event. It makes the trail riding in the Pyrenees look like a stroll in the park. When you take into account the weight of the gear they were carrying plus the bike's weight it must have been an epic adventure. Perhaps on a parr with crossing the Darian Gap.
When I come across an event like this by chance I often wonder how many other events of a similar nature there are that we are missing out on just because they are not publicised. Perhaps as we chance by them we should compile a list of them for members to consider.
