Re: RNAD Trecwn
Yep a few years ago now soon after clearing out the munitions and prior to private ownership. I remember being picked up and flying in to Haverford West with the prospective owners Omega Pacifics MD in his Learjet to talk about what future use could be made of the site. The caverns were basically regular WW2 domed asbestos clad sheds built inside the caves, with the interspace drained creating a membrane to keep munitions dry. Great little railway to all the caves, with blast walls etc. Fantastic location in a L shaped valley and I was told it was never detected in WW2 and that it did store some serious geography/geology changing munitions at its peak, if you know what I mean.
One of the most memorable bits of nuclear waste consulting I did, as I got to fly myself home to Oxford, (HMG showed me the basics several years previously!)
