How much is it wonky?
Unless the rim is visibly kinked or bent, it should be possible to straighten it by adjusting / re-tensioning the spokes.

Speedo & mounting panel etc.
I'm looking to remove the round headlight from my 640 and replace with the standard layout. Does anyone have an Armstrong speedo and also a mounting panel (HD or Armstrong will do) I also need the headlamp brackets. (I have an Armstrong h'light cowl, but MT350 forks, so whatever brackets will fit.) ...

Re: What have you done to your MT today ? contd
I removed some more parts for repainting off my 'winter camo' 640.
Olive drab looks rather better, IMHO.

Re: Back again!
You're right about the headlamp, of course. Part of the reason for wanting to return to standard is to have the benefit of some weatherproofing of all the electrical connections. It occurs to me that the standard (poor) headlamp with a couple of additional driving lights would look less 'wrong' than...

Re: Back again!
Yes, it's been modified a great deal. Most of the changes improve it from standard, but I think I'd like to revert to the standard headlight cowling (it has a circular headlamp now.)

Re: Back again!
Thanks for the welcome, guys.
I'm already finding a few 'idiosyncracies' with the 640 (as you do,) so I'll be asking a few questions soon.

Re: Back again!
Yes, it's the camo one. The jury's out on retaining that colour scheme. I'll not do anything for a while to see if it grows on me. The bike went fine this evening, although it seems a bit under-geared to me. Having said that, roll the throttle open at 60 and it takes-off quite nicely. I'll have a lo...

Back again!
Well, I was around for a while a few years ago. I had an MT500 and MT350 for a while, but sold them. I was looking on Ebay and saw an 'unusual' MT640 and I brought it home today!
I'm going out for a little run shortly - wish me luck!
Allan.

Re: How much !!
What a chancer! It does set me thinking, though. Has anyone transplanted a diesel engine into an MT? There are lots of Enfields with oil-burners fitted, ranging from pathetic dumper-truck single cylinder engines to larger twin cylinder jobs that will cruise at 70 easily and do over 80mpg at the same...
