Yes that's true, but I have a zero excess on this, so I thought the premium was OK.

Picked the MT up today.

i try me very best to avoid the usual insurance companies, as they just get silly, mind you, my missis has just insured both her bikes (brand new triumph street twin and a 5 yr old triumph street triple R) for just over £300 with hastings....

mine including my drag car are all insured either with hagerties who i highly recommend, or Brentacre, who are all hot rod enthusiasts, i think one of my BSA's is £40, so worth a try

i have found that these are possibly the worst company ever to hold an insurance licence!! and just about every hot rod person i know avoid these like the plague. Its well documented, they were even removed as sponsors on "Rods N sods" web site due to being down right bad.

hope you never need to use them if you do go with them, but up to you

I've used https://www.wickedquotes.co.uk/ for a few years because I've been unable to beat them. My 350 is off the road atm but my last quote was £96 as I recall. Fully comp for the year, no excess etc.
