Hi everyone

I’m Andy, Just joined the forum

I currently own an MT 500 Armstrong which is in many parts. Hopefully it will be all back together for wartime in the vale , Evesham, in June.
It’s a part restoration, many new parts and new colour.

Need a new back wheel if anyone knows of one.
Mine had suffered aluminium rot. Ok for show use but I had hoped to actually ride it too but I daren’t.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Welcome to the forum

You're best posting a Wanted ad in the Wanted section for your wheel and any other items

500 hub corrosion is not uncommon, hence spares are hard to find. You could try Sportax

Good luck with your rebuild

I’m hoping Nick from Force Motorcycles is going to be able to help me out.

Could do with a few picture of how the front panniers and SA80 carrier goes if anyone has any.
Got lots of duplicated parts, fixings, brackets
Confused.com.

I fixed challengers and Landys in the day, didn’t do much 2 wheeled stuff.

The MT500 had rear panniers, the MT350 had front panniers

Download, free, the Manuals from Joth's site These may help you work out what should go where

I only used Ferret, Saladin; Saracen, Fox, L/Rover, never bikes

Welcome to the forum Andy,

We used to do MT500 rear wheel exchanges with new spoke rings. The magnesium spoke rings rot away like yours.

It took me over 5 years to sell the 10 spoke rings and no one took me up on the exchange wheels which was a shame.

I have offered to get more spoke rings made but would need deposits and at east 5 interested MT500 owners to make it viable again.
