Center stand spring length?

Post by John Breay » Mon Nov 19, 2018 8:23 am

Any body what length the center stand spring is?
Also I have a humming back brake under light to medium pressure. Pads were new a few months ago but otherwise hasn't gone away.. Bike used daily so should be well bedded in.

I presume you are looking for 350 length, I have a new one handy and will measure it for you

PS Just measured, 107mm for the spring length but, the end hooks float and it it's packaging don't fully extend but would probably add 5 mm on both ends . Send me a pm if you want to buy a brand new one

Clean your caliper thoroughly, a full strip down and clean is best as you can get a build up of crud which can prevent the pistons moving freely.

Another thing you can try is light filing on the edges of the pad backing plates .

Is your tension spring in good condition and are retaining pins clean ?

Is your brake lever set with the correct amount of free play ?

Is the piston in your rear master clean and free to move ?

Check to see if disc is warped and it's got correct countersunk screws. If you've still got the plastic disc guard fitted check it's not touching the disc..
