Big Meet 2019 ideas

Post by hounddog » Sat Oct 20, 2018 6:29 am

Just been thinking about next year.
As many of you know, we attended the MCN Festival of Motorcycling at Peterborough in 2018 and had a club display there . Feedback from those who attended I think was overall very positive . It was a chance to meet up together for our annual big meet , and also to have a walk round the show with plenty to see. There are decent WC facilities on site, and we have the club trailer with all our kit now stored nearby.

The MCN show is on again on 18 - 19 May 2019 same location Peterborough .

No commitments at this stage , but just wanted to float the idea as to whether a return to that location for 2019 would be worth considering .

I will add that , for 2019 we would also be planning to put on a riding event at another time with green lanes - dates/venue to be decided

All constructive thoughts and suggestions welcome

Thank you

(ps - Stafford is not an option any more, the organisers there don't want our big display outdoors so we had to rule that one out )

I always liked Stafford and Peterborough was similar.

I've not got an events list for next year but the flat trackers will more than likely be there which is another organisation I support.

To have the big meet back at Peterborough works for me and also a club supported ride out at some point also sounds a good addition to the calendar.

I think the MCN rally works well. The positive is that there are enough attractions to keep you busy. The two negatives I can think of are;
A) No facility for a ride out (but there are other options through the year and we didn't get a ride out at Stafford either).
B) Sunday frittered away to nothing. we had seen and done everything so most wanted to leave by lunchtime which was against the rules.
Maybe if we could organise something to keep us interested through Sunday?
