I have just bought a HD MT350 from the Matlock area and brought it back to Nottingham. As is usual for me, ran great when I went to see it and now runs erratically. Going to try cleaning carb out, so hoping to find out how to go about it.

Welcome to the forum
Rust and rubbish in the fuel system is quite common, best to chase through from tank, fuel lines, fuel tap, anti-tilt valve ( if fitted), and carb ( many are ultrasonically cleaned)

Personally I favour sealing the tank with POR 15 as well If you remove the tap you can also see if you have any reserve at all ( many tubes are shorter than they were when originally fitted)
