I went for even softer springs on my 604 project as the 125lb were still like a pogo stick. I have a slightly shorter softer spring now and a spacer I machined to make up the gap. Its a lot smoother now.

yes i think i normally have 100lb springs for off road but they are on my road armstrong at the mo [ready for the dragon] i will be using the same bike for northants [as new off roader not finished]so will leave on.

project update,
new exhaust system has beat me
gone with a semi conventional exhaust [twin silencer]
trying to get the bike together for its maiden voyage at the fast approaching northants meet

managed to fit all the electrics in the new position under the seat,

just in case the 604 motor aint quick enough :? ive added some go faster stripes [the Essex chapter should approve]

off my 350 off road bike [white power48mm] originally only bought for a better front brake .
