Great start to the year for us after a few days off over Christmas.
As we enter a 3rd lock down it's business as usual thanks to the workshop being 20 paces from home - you can count them in the snow!
This week we test ran the crinkle finesed 604 engine and packed it ready to be shipped back to Scotland. Removed snapped studs in a cylinder head and prepped that and the cylinder for 405cc's. A 604 engine and frame arrived requiring an all gloss black finish and conversion to 640cc's. It's now all stripped and ready for the next phase.
Good news for all of our EU customers as our invoicing system now defaults to exempt UK VAT same as for the rest of the world so an instant saving of 20%. Not sure what import duties etc will be applied only time will tell.....

Hi Gary. Was just looking at the twin cam Rotax engine. Looks trick! Is the extension to the clutch cable entry point to stop oil leakage under pressure from the cable housing?

Hi Nige, I think it's just an add-on for the race bike it was destined for. It just pulls out. The o ring on the clutch cable is what stops any oil leaking out..

NB directly below the clutch cable entry point, on the underside, there is a drain hole which can get plugged with mud, perhaps allowing pressure build up. Once located, cleaning it takes minutes

I couldn't find it on 2 x 604 or 5 x 500 motors.

owners have said they can't find it before, then found it. With the underside absolutely clean and shining a torch whilst looking upwards, you'll find it. I found it on all 4 of my MT350 and other owners have found it. I remember an owner who lived in Scandinavia who found his bottom pulley surrounded in ice- he was going to drill a hole until I suggested locating the existing one and clearing it

That's the cam belt cover. If you've a hole directly below the clutch cable entry point, on the underside, it would be easy to find as oil would be pouring out of it.

Hi Gary. I just thought the extension pipe was maybe an attempt to raise the level that the cable o rings are situated so they don’t get so much oil splash from the spinning components inside the engine housing.
