All things must pass and last evening an assault on the L.E. gearbox began. Terra incognita, such fun!

This morning’s poor efforts in the Eclectic Shed (one shed, shed that is one though the sheds be many) resulted in the Little Velo being divided and rehoused in two sheds within the greater shed.

1960 Mark 3 LE cylinder heads (with one gasket shown).
A local engineer has “filled in” the informal but frequently occurring half moon lacuna on the outside of the lower waterway (showing at the top of the photo in this case) on the cleaner of the two heads. This may yield longer periods between gaskets blowing.

Metallurgy? Thaumaturgy!

Is the damage to the waterways done by erosion caused by not having some protective element such as modern anti-freeze in the system or is it just that the design is borderline?

Nice pictures :-)
