Post by Aprilliaetx » Wed May 20, 2020 9:16 am

Hello all,

I am Willem from The Netherlands and I own an Aprilia etx 6.35 which has a rotax 348 engine just as the mt350. So I am mainly here for the engine stuff.

Hello.

A cracking little bike, well done.

Does it have a six speed box?

Thank you! I have owned the bike for 2 years now and i have put a few thousand kms on it, I find it a very nice bike to ride. It has never run right though so i think it might be time to sort the engine out, was thinking of putting a 500 in it but they are really hard to find around here.

Yes it does, thats what the 6 is for in the 6.35. So 6-speed 350cc they also put decals "six-speed" all over the machine. I guess it was quite modern back in the day.

Hi and welcome. I too have an ETX 350, but only the 5 speed version. It’s a nice small easy to handle bike and easy to work on. This summer I intend to do a full strip and powder coat the frame. I live in North Yorkshire and go on the Hull Rotterdam ferry when I’m touring abroad. Where about in the Netherland do you live? Cheers Nige.

Welcome, another April is ETX owner here, fitted mine with a 604 motor and turned it into a monster.
The bikes were well ahead of their time.

Hi Franc. My ETX 350 was manufactured in 1985, I have the paper work from Aprilia to show this, however DVLA have it on a 1990 G plate. I bought it SORN as a non runner a year or so ago. This summer I hope to strip it completely and powder coat the frame etc. It has gold Arkont rims and a 5 speed box. I hope to rebuild it around a bigger engine just as you have done. Cheers Nige.

Wow! I like the idea of a 604, admittedly the 350 is a little underpowered. Nice to know there are some enthusiastic Aprilia etx owners on this forum!

Er.....enthusiastic? :?
Mine is built out of a random set of spare parts, and has the living help hammered out of it.
It was thrown together from spare bits I had left lying around, for a friend of mine who needed a trail bike.
He rode it hard and I didn't have the heart to break it down for parts as it proved so reliable and fun. :D
