Enfield Bullet Diesel

Post by Flying Dutchman » Tue Aug 01, 2017 1:10 pm

I just bought an Enfield Bullet Diesel. Don't know why, but i did!
It is an original factory Diesel, also known as the Taurus.
It sounds like an old tractor and vibrates heavily, but does 200 miles per gallon and runs on Bio-Diesel
I finally found a bike that makes my MT's feel like smooth Japanese racebikes :D
Does anybody know someone with an Enfield Diesel or other Diesel motorcycle? I would love to share info and experiences.

Greetings,
Jan

Sounds like fun :) always good to have something a bit different

As a matter of interest, how powerful is it and what is comfortable cruising speed , I would guess it is very slow ?

It is much fun. The old tugboat-sound is addictive, but it only has 8 HP and does 60 MPH. It takes days to reach that topspeed. But with a 4 gallontank and almost 200 miles per gallon you can tour through Europe on one tankstop :D

Yes, same with mine. From superbikes to Goldwing- and Harley-riders, nobody knows what they are seeing, hearing and smelling.
Mine reaches 60 miles per hour but at that speed your kidneys die and your teeth fall out of your mouth. 50 miles per hour is a perfect speed. Than the bike doesn't vibrate and makes a relaxed old tractor sound.
