mt350 pannier frame fitting mods

Post by P.I.STAKER » Sat Dec 14, 2013 7:41 pm

hi all

due to constant requests, i have manufactured some spacers/inserts to hopefully make the mt350 pannier frames a bit easier to remove and refit. allthough i do not have a 350 and never done the job, i gather the caphead bolts in the pannier frame tubes can be very awkward to remove and refit.
the suggestion was to make some spacer sleeves to fit inside the tubes so the fittings are accessible.
also the fittings are all stainless, this includes all the fittings needed on the pannier frames aswell.
thanks to Simon for the assistance and loan of the frames.

would like a couple of testers/volunteers to try them and make 100% sure that the spacers and rods are the correct length and the boxes fit as they should.
this would be for the whole kit and will be the cost of materials only Ă‚ÂŁ22.50
the pictures hopefully explain better

let me know if anyone is interested

regards

george

nobody interested, really require a tester or 2, please pm me for more details.
if its the cost putting someone off, we can sort something out regarding that.

Used this today to fit pannier mounts. Some small adjustments to get the lengths OK, but easier to take a bit off than add a bit :D

Feedbacck sent to George.

(sorry for the large size, but shows the details !! (first ones I've taken from an iPhone, and used a multiple file option for the first time - still got a lot to learn as an admin :( )

I think my mistake was attaching as files rather than posting each as a photo. At least I had more success fitting the pannier frames :D

For those who remove/fit pannier frames depending on what they are doing, they do make it a much quicker and simpler job.

Actually got round to fitting mine today.
Much easier to fit. Bearing in mind I still had to hammer my socket on but at least now I can see it :D

Nice spacers fitted no problem. Very good mod thanks George
