Funny conversation with the powdercoating company

Post by imthetourguy » Sat Oct 01, 2016 9:03 pm

I have left the guts of two MTs to be acid dipped to remove everything but metal and then powder coated. I haven't heard from them since before summer but I know they are quite busy. So the guy sends me a message that translates something like this

- Sorry it has taken so long. We stripped the paint back but there is a base layer that we can't remove. That paint is now illegal! We need to treat each part individually with another solution but will start with powder coating as soon as we can.

Made me laugh...that dam red base layer :)

I hear you. But he is the brother of a friend and I got a good price because I had no desired delivery time. He is a bloody perfectionist too, so I thought it was worth the punt. I was in the middle of changing gearboxes on my Niva AND a move to the other side of Sweden. I see the rebuilds as longer term projects
