Rebuilt Aprilia Tuareg 600 (562cc rotax with Dellorto)

Post by drunkenmunkey » Sun Sep 25, 2016 3:54 pm

Hi, I've been lurking here for a while but this is my first post.

I'm (almost sure that I want to) selling my 1991 Aprilia Tuareg 600.

It's been well loved and before my time of ownership has been rebuilt with powder coated frame and swing arm, new bearings all round, Wilbers shock, Aprilia 'Racing' rims, rebuilt Dellorto PHBR 34 carb', new sprag, belts and a full service 500 miles ago. There are other new items but those listed are the main ones.

The plastics haven't been touched in it's 25 years but underneath it's tight with no leaks (as you would expect after a rebuild). I have lots of used spares which I amassed but haven't ever needed to use, they are all original parts and comprise; spare wheels, 44T sprocket (off road), spare original exhaust, fairing unit, tank, forks and few other bits an bobs.

I've linked a couple of photographs below (sorry couldn't attached them).

It's a brilliant bike, always starts, it's nippy, will comfortably sit a motorway speed but will also do off road.

I honestly don't know where to price it, I'm open to offers but around ÂŁ1750ono seems like a fair price. It's in Edinburgh but I go down to Cambridge fairly regularly and could think about meeting/deliver if needed.

i agree keep it ,
i doubt it'll be broken because as you rightly say they are rare , therefor you end up sitting on the parts for ever , i broke a pegaso , almost the same bike really and i struggled , most of the bits went to Italy
excellent engine , great little bike ,

Thanks for posting the pictures ZIP TIE.

I am very very tempted to keep it but never the less, I've replied to all the PM's to those interested, hopefully none of you want to break it :(

As for comfort 2 up, I don't know. I can't imagine that the new Wilbers shock would have any issues, it's easily adjustable, there's plenty of seat space and the built in rear rack to hold on to.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
