Abbreviations

Post by NWbiker » Fri Apr 08, 2016 7:10 am

Firstly, I apologise if this has been asked before but I cannot find the definition of it and I am new to the forum.

I expect that MT stands for Military Transport, can this be confirmed?

What is the E in MT350E?

This has been discussed at length before. Most of us thought MT = Military Transport, but the definitive answer was that MT dates from earlier when bikes were first replacing horses so it was Motor Transport. Having said that, I don't think Armstrong or Harley would have known or cared about that so we bounced straight back to the 'Military' option.

I've asked this before and got loads of funny answers. Looking at my post history, a lot of old posts don't seem to exist any more meaning that a search on this topic won't work.

For me, over the years, MT means Money Thief

We lost a lot of old posts when the system crashed.
As for MT I haven't yet seen any official MT350 document expanding the letters. In my day MT stood for Motor Transport but I have seen other expansions eg Mechanical Transport Motorised Transport
