MT350 pickup and first rides

Picked the MT350 up weekend before last, MOT’D and out for a first ride. Rides ok on choke but there’s a definite fault when warm, engine dies from pull off, could be fuel contamination or possibly the carb needs a good service! (Here’s hoping nothing too serious!).
My last bike was a Roadglide CVO, so it’s fair to say this is something else!! Love the styling and hopefully it’ll go on the back of our camper. So we’ll most likely be up for camping/ get togethers next year.

Hopefully something simple

Fuel, use the drain screw at the bottom of the float bowl. Drain off a jam jar of fuel, doe it smell fresh.?

Inspect the airbox to carb and carb to engine rubbers- they can split/persish and upset the mixture.

Carb -a pain to remove but you could check/ clean 3 jets . Fit No 42 pilot if your bike has a standard No 40

Seems like the carb is a joy to remove!! Looking forward to it, many thanks for the advice,( Sportax just might be the answer!

Removing the carb is a real pain, I've never managed it without removing seat, battery, airbox , pannier support LHS, cables etc and much swearing 🤒 Cleaning thoroughly can make a huge difference- the enrichener passage clogs up as do idle and main jets, accelerator diaphram hardens, main diaphram weakens or tears.

The coating inside the throttle cables also wear- you don't realise how much until you renew them.
Check out your clutch cable too- they often break at the handlebar end , sometimes at the engine end.
