Before and after pics

Post by bestcraft » Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:40 pm

Hi all,

Finally got the MT back together. Stripped, painted and generally sorted out as I went along - still need to get the thing to run properly, but I will post a few details of that in the technical area and perhaps pick up a few clues from you experts.

Anyway, a few pics, before & after . . . . . .

That looks really good. I liked to see before and after pictures. What are those handle bars you have there?

I would say John that you have a really early bike because of the sight tube on the tank. This idea was soon dropped as full scale production commenced. Ive got one on my 2nd bike it,s no 000093.

I had hoped that this was the case, and looking at the well worn ID plate on the headstock, the number appeared to be 000192, making it a fairly early bike - however, having a sort through the documentation tonight, I have found the MOD disposal form and the chassis number is listed as 000992 - putting it pretty much (and unexcitingly) right in the middle !!!
:( Never mind, I must have someone elses tank !

I do think it is a neat idea though !
