Shock horror

Post by Wirralman » Sun Mar 11, 2018 10:48 pm

I note there is fury reported on the BBC website today

Apparently Devon disagrees with Cornwall as to whether a scone should be adorned with jam then cream or cream then jam

I'm sure our members in that part of the country can advise us......

Neither is right..... just eaten warm from the oven..not even butter. If your scones are good enough they do not need fiddling with. They main question should be , are they a scone as in gone or scone as in stone :o :o :o

I once had a conversation with a pretty cook about the pronunciation. I argued the the E on the end rounded the O so it must be Scone as in Stone.
She just smiled and said "How do you spell Gone?"

Jam first then a small amount of cream, just do not be silly by trying to add too much cream. ;)

I may be an idiot but I am not bleeding! :D
