Need a new engine for 1.8 freelander

Post by Simon73 » Tue Oct 18, 2016 4:04 pm

OK now you've stopped laughing, yes I'm looking for a 1.8 K-series engine for my much-loved freebie, and no its not the head gasket that's gone. I smacked the timing pulley off reading and throughout the timing, shit happens. If anyone knows of any rovers (not just landys) going cheap with a good 1.8l 16v K-series engine (the rest of the car can be in any old state, as long as it drives so I can get it home, or at least check out the engine),if you could let me know then I can get the beast back on and off the road. I'm in Selsey, West Sussex. :|

Bugger, no help to you now, I took a rover 45 with exactly that to the scrappy 2 months ago with a knackered autobox. Just wanted rid in the end 'cos it was sat for over 6 months and I'm still too ill to mend it so it had to go.
Hope you find one.
