A moment of weakness

Post by Silver Fox » Sun Jun 14, 2015 5:41 pm

Well, it's an itch I just had to scratch.

Been hankering over a Defender for a few years now and I've eventually bought one. A 1998 110 300Tdi which I'm picking up on Friday. Big grin on my face. :D

I suspect I'll be spending even more time in the garage. But every man has to have one at some point in his life.

Of course, it doesn't make any sense at all - my return journey to work is 90 miles a day, I never go off road, I like to listen to quiet music whilst driving, have a pathological dislike to breaking down and like to be warm in the winter. I'm going to love it!

mine is in the naughty corner... clutch pivot lever has a hole in it with the pivot pushed through! So that ain't getting done for a good while. Need to get the MT finished 1st.

Life is richer with a Landy, if not financially! I will never part with my 300 TDI 90.
Sure you'll will be tempted off road. I would rather take my Defender off road than the MT. I was in 4x4 Response for a few years but was never used. Ironically I left 4x4 response and last February in the snow help save my neighbour's son's life by getting him to an ambulance when he tore his liver in a sledging accident. You can't put a price on that.
The best 4x4 by far!
