pre 1960 mot free???

guys, im looking at a pre 1960 land rover, its my understanding that as long as the vehicle works as it should i can just drive it away, no mot required, am i right :?:

Correct, my 1956 Austin A30 will be all exempt when its done too :D

im gathering it will be a case of if there is an accident and something is found to be at fault with the car it will be down to me, but then even with an mot its still up to me to keep a vehicle road worthy so nothing lost.

yes, i can mot it any time i feel like letting it have the once over. but without the instant stress of a fail.
whats the situation with the tax now then :?: i gather the years tax free status on it will be handed in by the old owner and i will need to reapply :idea: :?:

Just treat the tax situation as normal like any other vehicle except when you apply it costs nothing.

It's even simpler on line.

I did my 1959 bike on line and it knew automatically that no MOT was needed and that the tax was zero
