timing belt change

Post by mt bandit » Thu May 03, 2018 6:14 pm

i'm not sure if i'm out of my depth here ,
but I bought a snatch 2a off withams the other week for a laugh ,
I've reconditioned all the bullet proof glass , which cost me a few tubes off silicon and a hell of a lot of elbow grease, never again ,
i'm now on engine service, new timing belt etc , i watched a utube vid and went for it , so far i've removed the rad and i can easily access all the external belts , this thing has two 24v alternators , i've never done anything like this before , my next move is to jrt wash the engine bay while the rad is out, and get rid of all the sand , then i'm gona attempt the belts

For a laugh? I bet you haven't laughed much. I always said you'd got a weird sense of humour

i'm thinking about starting an Isle of Wight militia , i'll be looking for recruits soon :D
my mate and me went to get this snatch from withams with a towing pole and my transit van , I didn't realise it was fully armoured and weighed 4 tonne , when we pulled away the front of the transit lost all traction , and as for roundabouts , well,
my wife can use it on the Tesco run , no more mysterious dents in the car , just hope she doesn't park it near the beach , she'll never find it again
