Re: Yes no spark,
When you tested your replacement was it earthed in some way that isn't replicated when you bolt it on the bike ?

Re: Yes no spark,
Tried three different new plugs, and when tested before bolting in it was just left hanging off wires whilst kicking over to check for plug, should the coil be rubber mounted, as I am thinking is it earthing out.

Re: Yes no spark,
the coil should be earthed otherwise it wont work. Remove the black/white wire and try it again.

Re: Yes no spark,
Tried it tonight, removed blk, / white wire very weak spark, put wire back in and can just about make out a weak spark, I can't seem to be able to get a strong healthy spark.

Re: Yes no spark,
Bernie - I'm not the best person to advise you on electrical problems (just ask 250 rider aka my brother Paul at Military CanAm) but can I ask two questions. Firstly did you previously have a good spark and the bike was a sound runner and now it isnt? Secondly I assume you mean you have changed the cdi unit as these bikes dont have coils in the classic sense. Also have you checked the wiring against the wiring diagram? It's not the easiest of diagrams to follow but it might point you in the right direction if there is a fault. Just thinking aloud do you mean you have changed the ignition coil part of the generator?
