front wheel rebuild

Post by gegdonnell » Sat Jan 23, 2016 11:33 pm

I recently got my MT MOT'd but I was notified that several spokes where loose on the front wheel. I was told of a retired cycle mechanic who rebuilds spooked wheels. I checked him out to find the guy took over his dads business in the sixties. The business celebrated its centenary in 2014. P. Morgan cycle agents 44 Chester Street. Saltney Chester, Tel 01244 671264. I was invited into his old workshop and stepped back 60 years, even down to the old cast iron fire place. I got a shock when I was given the bill: £12.50. I asked how much for a complete wheel re-build; I got another shock when he said £19.50, but would need to supply the spokes.

when you look at their rim prices, genuine mt rim price fron eg. LMS £65+ vat ,i think is good value.
