Sportax MT604 Dakar Tourer

Post by Minter » Sat Jan 26, 2019 9:15 am

I was inspired by Deadgrass's flat face a few years ago and decided to have a go at something myself. The idea was to have it ready for Bonnielad and Co's trans Pyrenees trip a couple of years ago but I never got it finished in time!

My Dad was after another project to do so once settled into the new Sportax workshop the project began!

Here's a few pics of progress so far!

Forgive me if this has been asked/answered before, I couldn't find it int he thread--what front end is that? Does it bolt straight in to the Armstrong frame or are special bearings required?

Thanks for posting this Gary, I find it fascinating Just like Dave's build, I can only admire the work that goes into these projects. There isn't a manual to follow, just problems to overcome. You'll have more challenges I'm sure and modifications to dial it in. I, like others I'm sure, will watch your progress with great interest

They are CCM WP forks.. I had to turn down the shaft to get the MT bearings to fit and make a bush for the top bearing and alter the steering lock inside the head stock..
